Nancy was 101 years old when she peacefully passed away while receiving care from Liberty Home Care. Her greatest wish was simple yet deeply meaningful—to remain in the home she had loved for more than 70 years until her very last breath.
With no close family living nearby, Nancy relied on Liberty Home Care not only for professional caregiving but also for companionship, kindness, and the reassurance that someone would always be there. It was both an honor and a privilege to help make her final wish a reality.

As Nancy’s needs evolved, so did the care we provided. Our team gradually increased support as her health declined, eventually providing 24-hour care so she would never be alone.
When it became clear that end-of-life care was needed, we coordinated hospice services directly in her home. This allowed Nancy to remain in the familiar surroundings that brought her the greatest comfort and peace.

We prepared Nancy’s favorite meals, coordinated her medical appointments, and paid close attention to the small details that made each day meaningful.
Knowing how much she loved flowers, we planted her favorite blooms outside her bedroom window. We even rearranged her room so she could comfortably look outside each day and enjoy the colorful garden she cherished.
These simple acts helped preserve the joy and familiarity that made her house feel like home.

One quiet evening, Nancy passed away peacefully in her own bed—exactly where she had always hoped she would be.
One of our caregivers remained by her side, gently holding her hand as she took her final breath.
Following Nancy’s previously expressed wishes, our caregiver calmly contacted the hospice nurse and funeral home, ensuring every step was handled with dignity, compassion, and respect.

Losing Nancy was heartbreaking for our entire team.
We miss her warm smile, her stories, and the joy she brought into our lives. Yet alongside our sadness is a deep sense of peace, knowing we fulfilled the promise we made to her.
